daguerreotype

The daguerreotype was the first commercially successful photographic process invented by Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre around 1837. The physical type is said to be a direct positive made in the camera on a silvered copper plate.

This type of photographic effect can be done through Adobe Photoshop. The process is not very hard to do, but an overlay image is needed to simulate the silver coated plate texture of the daguerreotype.
